Amalfi Coast Travel Guide

When to Visit:

We went at the end of May, and it was PERFECT. Not necessarily the best time to swim, but the weather was warm, and crowds were scarce. September is a beautiful time to visit as well, as summer crowds will die down a bit. Keep in mind that the Amalfi Coast is a seasonal destination - they'll be locking their doors come October.

Things to Consider:

Don't come to Amalfi specifically for the beaches. There are no actual sandy beaches in the area, except for a few black pebble beaches.

Please plan your transportation ahead of time. The coastline is a long stretch of twists and turns, and Italian locals drive like madmen. You don’t want to be backed up for hours when you’re just trying to arrive safely at your destination.

I suggest to start your journey with a few days exploring Rome.

This is an expensive and highly desired destination. It’s SO crucial to book ahead of time, and I really recommend to go during shoulder season to find more reasonable hotel rates.

How to Get There:

You'll likely arrive from Rome, through Naples, and then there are a few stops to take to get to the beautiful coast. Don't worry - the view is breathtaking on the journey.

Ask me about how I can make your arrival SEAMLESS. I had wonderful clients vacation here recently, and she mentioned, “Paying a little extra for pre-arranged transportation was worth its money in gold”.
